Free Easter Meals in San Antonio (2027)

Neighbors sharing a free community Easter dinner in San Antonio

Easter Sunday falls on April 18, 2027 — and as always, churches and community groups across San Antonio will open their doors for free Easter meals: ham, spring sides, and a table where everyone belongs. If you'd like a seat at one of those tables, here's how to find it.

When Easter meals are announced

Most organizations announce their Easter plans in March and early April — about three to five weeks before the holiday. That's when sign-up sheets appear, serving times get posted, and flyers go up at pantries.

Where to look

  • Check back here. As 2027 Easter meals are announced, we'll add them to the directory. Hot meals is the best place to look.
  • Watch community posts. Churches post their free holiday events on our community board — new Easter dinners show up there first.
  • Call 2-1-1. The free 2-1-1 helpline tracks holiday meal programs across the city. One call can point you to the closest one.
  • Ask at your pantry or church. Volunteers almost always know who's serving Easter dinner nearby — just ask.

What to expect

  • A spring holiday meal — often ham, potatoes, vegetables, and dessert.
  • Kid-friendly. Many Easter events include egg hunts or activities for children alongside the meal.
  • Everyone is welcome. Families, seniors, anyone spending the holiday alone — these tables are for the whole community.
  • Some ask you to RSVP. A few popular dinners take reservations so they can prepare enough food. Sign up early if you see one.

And the rest of the year

Easter comes and goes, but hunger doesn't follow a calendar. The same pantries and hot meal programs serve year-round — our directory doesn't close after the holidays, and neither does the need it serves. Bookmark this site, tell a neighbor about it, and remember: asking for help with food is one of the most practical things a person can do.
